Wang Qiang, (MA. MEd. PhD) Professor and director of the Centre for Foreign Language Education and Teacher Education in the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Beijing Normal University. She teaches Language Learning Theories and ELT Methodology to both undergraduate and post-graduate students. Her areas of interest include: curriculum development, teacher education and development, action research, second language acquisition, and ELT methodology. She has published quite extensively in the areas of ELT curriculum innovations, teacher training, and materials development in China. She has co-headed the National English Language Curriculum Design Project for Chinese Schools since 1999 and has involved in a number of research projects on English language teaching in China. She also sits on various ELT committees for promoting good practice and research in China.



Ma Xin, (MA, PhD Candidate), an English teacher and teacher trainer at School of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Beijing Normal University, P. R. China. Her research interests include in-service and pre-service teacher training, teacher change, ELT methodology, and materials development. In recent years, she has participated in a number of projects related to teacher development and textbook writing.

 


CHEN Zehang is a lecturer in the English Department, School of Foreign Languages and Literatures, Beijing Normal University, China. She is also a special lecturer in the School of Education, University ofNottingham, UK. She has just completed her PhD in e-learning and teacher development from University of Nottingham. She has been involved in various projects as researcher, materials developer and trainer. Her special interests are teaching English to young learners, ELT methodology, teacher development and e-learning.



Ms. Qian Xiaofang, lecturer of the English in Foreign languages school of Beijing Normal University. She is also a Ph student there, currently doing her dissertation on discourse analysis of teacher talk in primary EFL classroom. Her research interests include TEFL, sociolinguistics and language testing. She has participated in a number of research projects, covering English textbook writing, local matriculation test design, teacher action research, on-line teacher support and teacher development etc. She also has the experience of teaching Chinese as a foreign language to American students from 2006 to 2007 at Saint Anselm College, USA as a Fulbrighter


Shaoqian Luo (Sheila), Ph.D. in Applied English Linguistics (CUHK) and currently a professor in the School of Foreign Languages and Literature, Beijing Normal University. Her research interests are TBLT, language assessment and teacher education and development, and she has published in these areas. She has been involved in some MOE projects on language assessment and English teacher standards and some national teacher training programs in China since 2000.

 



Zhang Wenhua, an English lecturer of Jiangxi Normal University, used to work as a primary school English teacher for some years in several primary schools in China. At present, he is doing in his doctoral study at BNU with a research focus on issues concerning primary school English teachers’ professional development.
